Verify Age Before Risk Reaches Your Platform
A Multi Mode Waterfall Built for Real-World Risk
Disconnected checks duplicate effort and slows users down. Shufti's Age Verification Software connects every step so each one depends on the result of the step before.
Different regions and risk levels need different rules. Shufti lets you configure how the flow runs, when to escalate, and which age verification methods apply, all from one dashboard.
Multi-method verification usually means multiple integrations and agreements. Shufti deploys with one setup and one contract, built to fit your rules and handle Age Checks across multiple channels.
Privacy Built Into the Architecture
Server-side biometric processing creates permanent regulatory exposure. Shufti processes biometric templates from Facial Age Estimation and liveness checks directly on the user's device, enabling secure Verify Age operations.
Policy-based compliance breaks the moment policies change. Shufti satisfies GDPR Article 9 and EDPB Statement 1/2025 data-minimisation at the architecture level, not just through policy. This ensures safe and compliant age verification API usage.
Layered Defenses, Single Decision
Static photos and screen replays can fool basic age checks. Shufti applies liveness detection to reduce spoofing at the moment of verification, strengthening Age Gates.
A valid ID proves nothing if it does not belong to the person presenting it. Shufti matches the document to the live user to prevent impersonation in Age Verification methods.
Bad actors retry checks until they slip through. Shufti adds document authenticity signals at the appropriate stage to stop repeat-attempt cycling.
Fully Proprietary End-to-End Technology
Outsourced verification layers leave gaps in ownership and quality control. Shufti's entire AI Age Verification stack is built and maintained in-house.
Multi-vendor stacks slow performance and reduce accuracy. Shufti's unified architecture delivers higher accuracy, faster performance, and complete control for Online Age Verification.
Multiple sub-processors mean multiple audit narratives to defend. With Shufti, you demonstrate one accountable system and one transparent architecture to regulators, ideal for Verify Age workflows.

The Confidence Our Clients Share
The future of digital identity is defined by trust, interoperability, and regulatory alignment, so our partnership with Shufti reinforces DevCode Identity's commitment to supporting our global customers with the most secure, best-in-class, compliant identity verification solutions available today.
Combining our Conversion Driven Compliance Orchestration Platform with Shufti's global KYC and IDV capabilities allows our customers not only to navigate complex regulatory demands but also to maintain a seamless customer onboarding experience with the highest achievable conversion rates.
Shufti gives us verification journeys we can trust across every market we serve. The ability to route players through passive database checks, eID authentication, and full biometric liveness — all behind one API — has reshaped how we think about onboarding compliance.
Their team acts like an extension of ours. When regulators added new requirements across two European markets, Shufti’s journey builder let us adapt in days, not months.
FXBO customers demand speed without compromising AML rigour. Shufti’s eIDV fits exactly there — high-assurance verification for large deposits, invisible background checks for everything else, and one compliance trail across the board.
Integration took a single sprint. The SDK handled the full journey, so our product team stayed focused on trading features instead of building KYC screens.
As a regulated European payments platform, we need identity verification that meets eIDAS 2.0 and AMLD6 without multi-vendor stitching. Shufti delivers both — native eID authentication for high-assurance markets and docless database checks where eIDs don’t reach.
One contract, one audit log. That changes the compliance conversation entirely.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the three verification methods and when is each used?
Facial Age Estimation confirms eligibility from a liveness checked selfie, no document required, best for lower risk access gating. ID Document Verification extracts the date of birth from a government issued ID with liveness and face match, required for regulated industries where documentary proof is mandatory. Authoritative Database Lookup cross references user supplied details against civil, telecoms, and financial data, with no biometric or document collected.
What triggers the step-up from estimation to a stronger method
The operator configures a confidence threshold. When estimation returns a score below that threshold, the flow escalates automatically to database lookup or document verification, based on the policy set per product, region, or risk level.
What is a Zero-Knowledge Proof credential?
A cryptographic token issued after successful verification that confirms the user meets the age threshold without retaining or re transmitting the underlying data. On return visits, the credential is re presented, no fresh biometric or document required.
Does Shufti meet Ofcom's Online Safety Act requirements
Ofcom's draft codes (consultation closed Q1 2025, final publication pending) identify photo ID verification with facial matching and data based checks against authoritative sources as acceptable methods. Shufti's ID Document Verification and Authoritative Database Lookup address both. Shufti's compliance team can provide a written assessment against current draft guidance on request.
Can different age rules be applied per market
Yes. Thresholds and escalation rules are configurable by region, product, and risk level from one integration, no separate implementations per jurisdiction.
What ID documents are supported?
Passports, national identity cards, driving licences, and residence permits across any government issued document. Country specific coverage is available on request.
What certifications does Shufti hold?
Shufti's liveness detection has been independently tested by iBeta against ISO 30107-3 PAD Level 3 scenarios. Infrastructure holds SOC 2 Type II certification with annual third-party audits. Full reports available under NDA.
How does integration work?
Use the hosted verification link for the fastest launch, Web/Mobile SDKs for guided in product experience, or the REST API for full orchestration control. Results are returned via callbacks and webhooks.
Keep Underage Users Out. Keep Data Collection Minimal
Choose the right level of age assurance for each user journey, from low-friction checks to stronger verification when policy or regulation demands it.
