DXC Technology, a global IT solutions provider reported a ransomware attack to the US Exchange Commission and securities regarding its subsidiary, Xchanging. On July 5th, Xchanging, a managed services provider (MSP) that primarily focuses on insurance-based businesses, suffered a ransomware attack, and notified its investors.
The company expressing confidence says that the attack did not spread outside the network of Xchanging. However, it is still unclear that when a company actually detected the attack as investigators have not revealed anything about the data being affected.
The number of customers affected by the ransomware is not revealed by the company yet. In the statement recorded by BleepingComputer, a spoken person of the company said that the ransomware affected a subset of Xchanging business and that the data of customers was not compromised. The company denied access to their system. Remediation and containment measures were deployed in the system to control the situation.

The company is making efforts to restore services to its customers and taking remediation measures for some clients to provide the services again.
A spokesperson of DXC Technology said that “While the revenue from those impacted customers is not material to DXC financial position, we nevertheless take this situation very seriously and have already restored services as nearly all of them”
The company is working with law enforcement agencies for the investigation of ransomware attacks. Till now, there is no information about the family of malware that attacked on the company. All the investigations are in process and the number of clients affected by the attack is also understudy.
