A famous rapper from Chicago with his crew members was caught and charged in court for using the stolen credit cards and stolen identity cards to pay for their lavish means, designer clothes, puppies, and a private jet for the last four years.
Herbert Wright III, most commonly known as G Herbo, has been charged with wire fraud and identity theft in the US District Court, Massachusetts. Along with G Herbo, his crew members Joseph Williams, Steven Hayes Jr., Demario Sorrells, and Terrence Bender were also charged with identity theft charges.
This conspiracy started when Wright along with his co-defendants illegally took credit card information from the dark web. They are also suspected to have used fake identity cards, driver’s licenses, emails ID to fool the businesses.
The indictment said, “Generally because the defendants and their co-conspirators provided authentic payment card information, the defrauded businesses and individuals successfully processed their transactions and provided the goods and services.”
In a case, Wright allegedly requested from Strong to reserve a private mansion in Jamaica. Allegedly, Strong made a reservation using a stolen credit card.
Several other fraudulent attempts have been highlighted by the indictment. They are known to rent Maybach S600 and a Bentley from stolen money.
G Herbo, grew up in South Side Chicago and helped to lead Chicago’s drill music to international recognition. His music is plauded for the harsh realities he had to face growing up. The rapper was charged with weapons and battery charges before. The thing he made the headlines was for his community work in the South Side of Chicago by hosting food drives and giveaways.
